Phukets secret beaches make the Best Family Beach Vacations

Phuket's beaches are world-renowned and tourists congregate from across the globe to have the best family beach vacation on the well known beaches at Patong, Karon, and Kata. So much so that many people grumble that these beaches have lost their charm. They say Phuket can no longer state to be an idyllic tropical island hideaway. The beaches are too packed. Sun lounges line the whole distance, end to end of the beaches, sometimes in rows two or three wide. Jet skis, banana boats and parasailers zoom through the water while locals try to sell their goods along the beach. They say Phuket is over and done with as a family beach vacation and only caters to the party types.

But these people have not spent sufficient time exploring Phuket as a best family beach vacation destination. There are at least forty white sandy beaches around Phuket Island and there is a lot to suit all families. If you want a beach with excellent holiday amenities but not too crowded then Nai Harn, Kamala, Surin, Bang Tao and Nai Yang all have great resorts and restaurants and up till now do not draw big crowds. If you really want to get away from the crowds then Nai Thon and Mai Khao beaches in the nothern end are more often than not incredibly quiet.

Banana Beach
This gorgeous beach is in the northern part of Phuket . It is a beautiful two-hundred metre strip of sand ringed with palms. It is a perfect swimming beach and there is some fantastic snorkelling to do. There is no family accommodation, only a seaside café with a couple of deck chairs at the south. There are usually only a few of holiday makers at this beach. Most of them turn up by long boat from other family beaches but you can make out the beach from the beach road over and there is a path downwards.
Pansea Beach
At the north end of Bang Tao Beach is the absolutely amazing and untouched Pansea Beach. There are two luxury resorts at this point but still the area retains its heavenly serenity. Just off shore is Kala Island that shields the shallow cove from the surf so it is calm all the time. The beach surf is too low for swimming and when the tide is out you can stroll to the island. It is a perfect family beach for splashing and playing and perfect for children to play. There is no food and drink here but any family would love to picnic here.
